First-time engagements

What to expect when working with us

First time working with us? This is for you.

Engaging a digital investigation service for the first time can feel intimidating. This page explains how our process works, what we need from you, and what you can realistically expect at each stage.

Our goal is to provide professional, ethical, and well-documented investigative work, while keeping the process clear and straightforward for you.

What we can and cannot guarantee

We guarantee:

We do not guarantee:

When you contact us, we ask you to describe your situation at a high level. To gather all relevant details, we will provide a secure form for you to complete. This form collects the circumstances and known information related to your request.

You do not need to know which investigative services are needed or how the investigation will be conducted—our team will handle that.

At this stage, you are not committing to anything. Completing the form allows us to:

  • Assess whether your request is legally and ethically permissible

  • Identify the type of investigation required

  • Determine whether we are the right provider for your needs

Once Step 1 is complete, we have all the information needed to prepare the scope of work, quote, and engagement documents in Step 2.

Once we have collected all the necessary details in Step 1, we will assess if we can take on your case and, if so, we define the scope of work for your investigation. This outlines:

  • What will be investigated

  • The investigative phases involved

  • The estimated time and cost

  • Any limitations or assumptions

The scope of work is documented in the Letter of Engagement, which you will receive along with:

  • A Master Agreement detailing the terms and conditions

  • A formal quote specifying fees for the agreed services

If you agree with the quote and the terms outlined in these documents, you will sign them electronically. Once countersigned by us, we move to Step 3 for payment and the official start of work.

Before beginning the investigation, payment or retainer arrangements are confirmed based on the agreed quote and scope. Once payment is processed:

  • The investigation officially begins

  • Work is conducted in defined phases using lawful, ethical, and professional methods

  • All information collected during Step 1 is incorporated into the investigative workflow

This ensures that when the work starts, we already have a clear understanding of your case and all the details required to deliver accurate, verifiable, and actionable findings.

Investigations are conducted using professional methods tailored to your case. Phases may include:

  • Information collection and verification

  • Analysis and cross-correlation of data

  • Evidence documentation and preservation

  • Reporting and review

At all times, your information is handled confidentially, and we maintain communication as appropriate to your case.

At the conclusion of the investigation, you receive a professional report, which may include:

  • Factual findings and analysis

  • Supporting evidence and references

  • Clear explanations of what was verified, inconclusive, or not found

  • Methodological notes where relevant

Reports are written to be understandable by non-technical readers, while remaining suitable for legal, corporate, or personal use. We also provide the original results of our queries, if applicable, tagged for forensics purposes.

Confidentiality and discretion
All engagements are handled discreetly. Information shared with us is treated as confidential and used only for the purpose of the agreed investigation, subject to legal and regulatory obligations.
When we may decline or stop the engagement

We may decline or discontinue work if:

In such cases, we communicate clearly and professionally.

If you are unsure

If you are unsure whether your situation requires an investigation, or which service applies, you can contact us for an initial discussion. We will help assess your situation and explain your options before any commitment is made.
