To deploy and share the report in your organization’s cloud environment, you will need the following:

The Secure Gateways app templates were set up in a pro-capacity workspace.

How to check your Power BI license

You can check your Power BI license and permissions by logging into your Power BI Service:

  1. From a web browser, navigate to your Power BI login page and sign in with your credentials.
  2. Click on your profile picture in the upper-right corner and select “View Account” or “My Account” from the drop-down menu.
  3. Under “Subscriptions,” look for “Power BI Pro, “Power BI Premium Per User,” or another license assigned to you.

App Installation from the Microsoft AppSource

Secure Gateways can be installed directly from the Microsoft AppSource. It doesn’t require connecting to your tenant, so it complies with the highest security standards.

Steps:

  1. Log into your Microsoft Power BI Fabric.
  2. Go to Apps from the left-hand side menu.
  3. Click on the Get Apps button.
  4. Type “Secure Gateways” in the search box at the top right corner.
  5. Click on the app tile.
  6. Click the “Get It Now” button and confirm with “Get It Now.
  7. Click on “Install”.

Connecting the app template to the dataset

The following video will show you how to complete the installation process by connecting the app template to the dataset.

Steps:

  1. When the app finishes installing, click on the “Go to app” button.
  2. As the app appears on the screen, a banner with the following warning appears: “You’re viewing this app with sample data.” Click on the “Connect your data” link.
  3. Under the “Connect to Secure Gateways” window, select the pre-set values for each parameter (i.e., App ID, Package Key, Owner ID, and SAS token).
  4. Copy the SAS token value (starting with “sv” and to the end of the value) and click on the “Next” button.
  5. In the following window, paste the token under “SAS token.” Leave the Privacy level setting for this data source as “Public.”
  6. Click on the “Sign in and connect” button.
  7. Wait for the yellow banner in the app to disappear.

The app is now ready for use in your Apps collection.

Provide access to users in your organization

SECURE GATEWAYS PU (PER USER)

If you have purchased Secure Gateways PU (Per User), you can share your application with a limited number of users within our company tenant. If you need more users to access the app, you’ll need to buy more licenses.

SECURE GATEWAYS ENTERPRISE

Secure Gateways Enterprise provides access to any company user with a valid Power BI Pro or Premium license.

You can assign users to the app by entering the app workspace and clicking “Manage Access” at the top left of the menu.

Maintenance and updates

Digital business document management and checking system

If a new version of the app becomes available, you will be notified through the Notification Center. Then, you can decide whether to keep the current version or update it.

You can update the app from the workspace by clicking on the “Update app” option.
